Yerba Mate

Yerba mate comes from the leaves of a holy tree that grows exclusively in the South American rainforest. Once harvested it is an extremely popular drink in Central and Southern America. It is one of only 4 herbs that contain caffeine making it a very energizing tea. It also contains practically all of the vitamins needed to sustain human life, according to the Pasteur Institute, making it basically a super food (drink?). Fun fact -  It is the national drink of Argentina. The flavor is bittersweet and earthy with nuances of eucalyptus. It also "plays well with others", adding flavor depth to other teas especially fruity or herbal teas.
