Cold Brew Tea

What is this "cold brew" everyone seems to be talking about? It basically means the process of using cold water to brew your tea instead of using hot. Using cold water extracts more of the flavors in the tea (over time). This makes the tea taste smoother and cleaner, plus it's EASY to do!!

    Recipe

Ingredients (this is for 8 ounces, the recipe holds true for as many servings as you would like):

•The equivalent of a 8oz serving plus a half serving of your tea of choice (ie if the you are using calls for 1 teaspoon tea for 8 ounces, use 1 1/2 teaspoons for every 8 ounces water.
•8 ounces of cold (filtered is best) water
•Optional add-ins - sliced lemon or ginger, sweetener of your choice, mint leaves, etc

    Instructions:

    • Add your tea, cold water and any add-ins to a pitcher or container with a lid (you could also use a french press for this)
•Cover and refrigerate for 8-12 hours
•Strain your tea with a fine mesh strainer
•Keep covered in the refrigerator for up to a week
