Gui Fei and Oriental Beauty are unique teas from Taiwan that are bitten by the “green leaf hopper”. The damage done by this tiny cicada creates a chemical reaction in the leaves that changes the character of both the flavor and aroma. Gui Fei is oxidized (around 35%) and undergoes more baking the popular green style. Gentle steeping is essential to keep the aroma light, sweet, and thick. A little goes a long way.
