Notes:

This black tea is made from large leaf Assimica Yunnan tea that is normally used for Puer tea production.  The tea is then pressed into a cake for storage and aging.  The steeping time depends on if you have a chunk of cake or if it is broken up.  There is a strong aroma from the first moment water hits the leaves and first sip if filled with Qi if you pay attention.

• Tea: 5g
• Water: 5oz., 195°
• Steep: 1, 2, 3, 4
• Time: 15, 10, 15, 25 sec.

Maker’s Notes:

Suan Zao Shu village is one of the most remote villages in the Jinggu area, taking nearly 2 hours from Jinggu town to arrive there. The winding dirt roads stop about 5 kilometers before you arrive and the remaining distance must be traversed by foot. Suan Zao Shu village lies at an altitude of 1800 meters and is home to tea trees ranging in age from 50 years up to 400 years. This Suan Zao Shu tea cake is made from tea leaves harvested from 200-300 year old tea trees in the Li family tea garden.
