The aroma is roasty but the flavor is very subdued dispersed.  The flavors fill your whole mouth and settle in the middle of the tongue and back top of the mouth.  The flavor is not intense but penetrating.  The strong point like flavor of the original has slowy spread into a blanket over the last 40 years.  I tasted cream and dried fruit with a little smoke and honey.  It takes 3-4 steeps to fully open the leaves.  The feeling of the tea lasts a long time.  Based on the tea's history, this tea would be from 1981, or early 80s.  The tea is never very dark and stays a light red-orange color.
