Chai Latte At Home

Chai originated in India and is a sweet and spicy tea with a very fragrant aroma that is typically made from a combination of black tea,  ginger and other spices. The most popular spices include cardamom, cinnamon, fennel, black pepper and cloves.

It is traditionally made by steeping with a strong ratio of tea to water, slightly sweetened, then warmed/frothed milk is added.
There are many flavor variations of Chai but Masala is the original, dating back to the 1800s.

Fun fact - the word Chai translates to tea.
