Cranberry harvesting has flourished in what is now Eastern Massachusetts for over 10,000 years! By 1900, cultivation in Barnstable County was so robust it had made Cape Cod a household name. As late as 1927, the cranberry harvest remained so vital to local and state economies that Massachusetts children could be excused from school to work the bogs during the Autumn months.
We celebrate this agricultural legacy of Cape Cod with our Chatham Cranberry Bar. We source our cranberries from a family that has been growing and harvesting cranberries for three generations. Tracing each bin of berries from bog to bag, they take pride in a legacy of unwavering commitment to the land, community, and of course, the exquisitely delicious fruit themselves.
